The idea of traveling with kids can leave some parents feeling overwhelmed, but there are a lot of great reasons why you should travel with kids. In this episode, the Moms discuss their successes and challenges when planning vacations.
While parents often think about the cost of trips and trying to get as much out of it as possible, Erica says her trip to DisneyWorld put things into perspective.
“We’re standing in line and my three year old goes ‘Mommy, I really think it’s just time to go back to the hotel and go swimming'”.
The Moms agree – you can have a plan, but with younger kids, be willing to be flexible.
It’s hard enough as an adult to endure a whole day of travel, let alone with kids. That’s why the Moms say a little grace goes a long way.
“You have to be empathetic. Families traveling with younger kids, they’re doing the best they can,” said Saritha.
Whether it’s a weekend getaway or an international adventure, vacations are about making memories that last a lifetime. Not every trip will go according to plan and you’ll need to be flexible, but the Moms agree family vacations are worth the time, money and effort.
“If you were to ask my kids, the best time they have spending with my husband and I is when we’re on vacation,” said Saritha.
“It takes you out of your regular routine. That’s what vacations are for,” added Patti.
