The mission of Easter Seals is to enable infants, children, and adults with disabilities to achieve their maximum independence, and to provide support for the families who love and care for them. Their vision is that all children receive the developmental services they need to live their best life.
Easter Seals DuPage & Fox Valley serves 1,000 children per week, including children with mild developmental delays to those with more medically complex needs. The staff work on each child’s individual goals to help them achieve their maximum independence, and provide support for the families who love and care for them. There is a facility right here in Naperville. There are also locations in Villa Park and Elgin. The staff provides physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy, assistive technology, nutritional therapy, audiology, family services, community outreach programs, specialty clinics, and a child care center.
Charlie talked about the many ways his therapy has helped him and Michael talked about the new adaptive bike Charlie received that has given him a sense of independence all ten year old children crave. The adaptive bike program is one that Easter Seals is planning to roll out further. To see Charlie on his bike, watch NCTV17’s news story at: https://www.nctv17.com/easter-seals-gives-wheels/
To help raise money for the bike program among other initiatives, Easter Seasls, in partnership with Continental Mazda of Naperville, is hosting a Car Raffle. Viewers can purchase a ticket for $50 where the winner will choose between a 2017 Mazda CX-5, a Mazda MX-5 GT or the cash equivalent. Only 3,000 tickets will be sold! As Charlie tells us, by purchasing raffle tickets, you will build brighter futures for children with disabilities.
