Waubonsie Valley vs. Naperville Central Badminton 4.18.19

Naperville Central and Waubonsie Valley both looking for final tune ups before the conference meet next week.

#2 Doubles

We begin with #2 doubles with Redhawks Natasha Roy and Ria Jha against Waubonsie Gloria Xu and Mikaela Segura.

Game one and central looks strong off the bat, landing on in the corner for the early advantage.

Waubonsie responds though as Xu glides one over the net and in, Warriors still fighting.

The Central dou would just be too much in game one a they smash this one home, 21-15.

Second game and central is still looking good, Roy lays one to the left perfectly for the point.

Waubonsie placing the right shots to hang on, getting the deep bird to land in for the point.

Back forth battle on game point but central hangs on to win in straight sets 21-15, 21-14.

#1 Singles

We drop a partner for #1 singles with Waubonsie Sanjana Tumma against Central’s Ria Jha. And Jha comes out swinging in the first set taking it 21-13.

Game two and Tumma still fighting. She lands the drop shot at the net for the point.

In the end though, Ria Jha and the Redhawks would prove to be too much, sweeping the match at home 15-0.
