Stevenson vs. Naperville Central, Boys State Water Polo // 05.21.16

Naperville Central boys water polo goes for an undefeated season facing Stevenson in the State Championship.

The Redhawks have been dominating teams all season long, and even defeated Stevenson 15-5 earlier in the year. They got off to a quick start with Phillip Emden, Kyle Jackson, and Nick Walker all scoring in the first quarter for a 3-0 lead.

Central would go up 5-1 in the third quarter before the Patriots began a valiant comeback effort. Kurt Holzer with a few one timers made it 7-5 late in the fourth, but another tally from Nick Walker put the game out of reach.

Naperville Central and head coach Bill Salentine win their first State Championship after three second place finishes. They finish the season 35-0, the first undefeated season since 2011.
