St. Ignatius vs. Neuqua Valley, Playoff Hockey // 02.25.16

Neuqua Valley takes on St. Ignatius in the opening round of the Blackhawk Cup Playoffs. Neuqua Valley is coming off of back to back wins against Naperville Central in the Illinois West Cup Playoffs and have earned a spot in the conference final against York. Despite a best of three series with York still upcoming, Neuqua Valley had to play its opening game of the Blackhawk Cup before.

Neuqua enters the game as the 16 seed while St. Ignatius is the 17 seed.

The Wildcats got a phenomenal outing from several players, including a 3 point game from Reid Martin, who also scored one of the best goals of the season. Goaltender Brandon Boies was once again solid between the pipes, allowing just 2 goals in the Wildcats 5-2 victory.

Up next for Neuqua Valley is a tough test against New Trier Green in round two.
