After losing three time All-State selection Abby Boswell to graduation, the Naperville North girls soccer team needed someone to step into the leadership spotlight.
Enter Maddie Krejci. Leading the Huskies in goals with 11, the senior forward has already tied her total from last season. Her four assists has her ranked third on the team.
Krejci showed flashes of her full potential last season, scoring the game-winning goal against New Trier in the Naperville Invitational, which turned out to be the only loss of the season for the Trevians.
At this year’s Naperville Invitational Championship, Krejci scored a pair in North’s 3-0 win over rival Naperville Central. The victory earned the Huskies the tournament title for the third time in four years, and Krejci was named MVP of the Match by chicagolandsoccer.org.
The Tennessee commit has lead North to the top of the state rankings, and in the top ten nationally according to topdrawersoccer.com, thanks to a run of 11 consecutive shutouts, a new program record. During that run, Krejci scored five goals and an assist.
With only a week until the postseason kicks off and the DVC Championship now locked up, there isn’t much left for Krejci and the Huskies to do…except bring home another state trophy!
