Waubonsie Valley trying to break a two game losing streak, as the Warriors welcome the Wildcats from Neuqua Valley. Waubonsie 2-2, Neuqua 3-1 and it should be a good quarterback dual – with Mark Gronowski and Ethan Nelson going head to head.
After a scoreless first, Neuqua is knocking on the door 00 Gronowski hands off to Armani Moreno, and he finds the endzone. 7-0 Wildcats as they try and silence the crowd.
Same score 2 minutes later… Nelson swings it outside to Antonio Torres, and the short pass is gunna go a long way! Torres going 55 yards for the score – evening things up at 7 apiece and the running back is a bit excited.
Teams trading scores now as Gronowski sweeps left and takes it in himself, lowering the should to pick up 6. Wildcats back on top, 14-7 with 5 minutes until the half.
Next Waubonsie possession… and Nelson cant handle the snap. Fumble! Neuqua pounces and takes over near the 20.
With just 19 seconds left to go in the half, Sean Larkin is wide open in the endzone by Gronowski. The ball disappearing into the abyss, but NV leads 21-7 heading into the half.
Second half now as Gronowski rolls right… then has to pause before shooting a beebee to Larkin in the endzone – this one from 25 yards out. Neuqua rolling, up 28-7.
Waubonsie trying to claw back into… Warriors run the option, and it fools us! Nelson gets it to Torress, and he runs it in to cut the deficit down to 28-14.
Fourth quarter, Warriors mounting an effort to comeback… but Nelson’s passed is tipped and intercepted. Trey Borske seals the win with a pick 6 as Neuqua wins 35-14.
