Neuqua Valley forced a win-or-go-home Game Three with a 4-1 victory in Game Two, but it was Naperville Central coming out fired up. The Redhawks scored the first two goals of the game before the Wildcats could even blink. Neuqua Valley cut into the lead at the ten minute mark of the first, but that didn’t slow down Naperville Central. In fact, the Redhawks put up two more on the board before the end of the period. Wildcats had worked to do and in the second, they scratched and clawed their way back into the game by scoring two and shutting down the Redhawks. Early in the third, the coach’s son Ben Granato, scored the game-tying goal, his second of the evening. Then with under four to play in regulation, Neuqua Valley grabbed the lead with the eventual game-winning goal from a beautiful redirection by Ryan Viola off a shot from the point by Kevin Ringlein. The Wildcats will play York in the Illinois West Cup Final.
