Naperville North Welcomes a new, but familiar face, to the coaching staff for the Girls Basketball Program. Hear all about the new coach’s plans in this feature, presented by Edward Medical Group.
Under New Leadership
After coach Jason Dykus stepped down from leading the Naperville North Girls Basketball program, new shoes now pace the sideline after a familiar face stepped up, Coach Erin Colletti.
The girls went from seeing Colletti as fun and relaxed to a much more serious coach, but the change is welcomed from the leaders on the team.
Colletti played high school ball at Carl Sandburg and then went on to DePaul University on a full basketball scholarship where she played on teams that qualified for the NCAA tournament each of the 4 years she was there. Colletti then bounced around the lower levels of high school basketball before taking on the head coach position this summer.
Colletti is now at the highest level of play and she doesn’t plan on slowing down any time soon.
With all the improvements that the team is seeing, they hope that they can once more reach the top spot in the conference, and continue from there.
Kara said it herself, step by step: that’s the plan that all starts in the preseason at practice.
