Naperville North and Naperville Central wearing special jerseys to help raise awareness for domestic abuse and violence. It’s the second matchup between the rival schools this year with the Huskies coming out on top in the first meeting.
It was a tail of two halves to this ball game. Huskies dominated the first three innings, using a six-run second to grab an 11-0 lead. But in their half of the third, Redhawks get a few runs back, scoring four of their own.
Central’s Meredith Siembekos hit a two-run double in the bottom of the fourth making it a 12-6. Then in the sixth, Siembekos puts one over the fence for a three-run home run, deficit down to two.
But in the bottom of the seventh, with Siembekos back at the dish, the Huskies get the senior to fly out to right, ending the game and hanging on for the 12-10 win.
