Naperville North taking on Naperville Central for the 4th time this season, this time a sectional championship on the line. Central coming into the match 31-0 and ranked number one in the state. The winner will move on to face York in the State Quarterfinals at Stevenson.
Just a few seconds into the match and Philip Emden starts off the scoring, bouncing it bast Jack Roche.
A minute later, Matthew Mcgee hangs in the air and fires one past goal tender Kent Emden, tying it up at one.
Early 2nd, Redhawks up 2-1, Bender Russo finds a leaning Matt Reagan, who throws in the off balanced shot for the 3-1 lead. But Cole Jacobs had the answer, he lofts it perfectly into the back of the net to cut the lead down to one.
After a Nick Walker penalty shot goal, Reilly McDonnell tosses it in, Emden knocks it away, but Jon Jon Pettinger slaps it into the net to make it 4-3
Nick Walker fires a fastball to extend the lead to 5-3 on the next possession.
Later in the 2nd, Russo somehow finds Brian Calabrese in a crowd to make it 7-3 Redhawks. Calabrese had two goals in the game for Naperville Central.
In the third period, Cole Jacobs using several fakes before throwing it in. Huskies trail 9-6. Four goals for Jacobs in the game, which was a team high for Naperville North.
Early in the 4th, Nick Walker with his 6th goal of the game to take a 13-7 lead.
The Huskies trying to climb back in it, but Kent Emden makes the diving stop, clinching another trip to state for Naperville Central. The Redhawks will play York in the quarterfinals and now stand a perfect 32-0 on the season.
