Naperville Central looking to make it three in a row after beating Waubonsie Valley last week. Wheaton-Warrenville South has never started a season 0-5.
It was all Redhawks in the first half. Patrick Ryan ran for a pair of touchdowns and senior DB Luke Turner return an interception for a touchdown giving Central a 21-0 lead into halftime.
The Tigers turned it around in the second half. Wheaton-Warrenville South outscore Central 28-7 in the second half, forcing overtime.
But in double overtime, Naperville Central decided to go for two and the win, using a little trickery as well. With the game on the line, head coach Mike Stine drew up the halfback option pass. AJ Deinhart found Joshua Ruiz in the back of the end zone all alone for the game-winning toss, 43-42.
