Metea Valley got its first win of the season last week. The Mustangs look to make it two in a row and two in a row against their Eola Road rival Waubonsie Valley. The Warriors try to snap a two-game losing streak.
With just over six minutes to go in the game, Waubonsie’s offense had to settle for a field goal to go up 24-14.
Metea Valley made things interesting when Payton Thorne connected with Michael Brown for a touchdown making it 24-21 with under two to play.
But the ensuing onside kick was snuffed out by Connor Yukna and the Warriors held on to the win, improving to 3-2 on the year.
