Metea Valley gets the boys soccer season underway with a rematch against Jacobs High School. The Eagles defeated the Mustangs 2-0 in last year’s season opener.
Opening minutes of the match belonged to Jacobs. The Eagles dominated the time of possession in the attacking zone and were finally rewarded with a goal off the foot of Noah Melick just eight minutes in.The one-nil lead would hold up through the first half. Metea couldn’t muster any offense in the second half either as the Mustangs fall to the Eagles 1-0 in the season opener. Sophomore goalie Kevin Branch made six saves in the contest.
