It’s the annual Naperville North Gus Scott Invite and what a windy day it is… but the athletes and Gus Scott himself braved the cold to compete in a great meet.

## Shot Put

Cary Grove’s Sarah Howdelshell tossing the weighted ball. She grabs 31 feet, 6.5 inches good enough for third place. Alexis Withrow of North would top her by a whole foot for second.

## Triple Jump

Waubonsie’s Olivia Kauffman going down the runway to triple jump… thankfully with the win. She leaps 34 feet and 4 inches for second place behind Katherin Kempff of St. Charles East.

## High Jump

Raise the bar up to 5 feet one inch with Huskie Maeve Conneely. She clears it graceful as ever for first place in that event with a personal record too!

## 4 x 800 Meter Relay

We start first with the 4 by 8 relay. Half way through and North’s Jillian Carroll hands off to Megan Driscoll with a solid lead. Cary Grove and Benet are in 2^{nd} and 3^{rd}. Alex Moriss, the anchor for the huskies, comes down the stretch with absolutely no one behind her for a first place time of 9 minutes 46.03 seconds.

## 3200 Meter Run

Let’s stick with a distance race… and a long one too, the 32 hundred… St. Charles East’s Alice Abbott has quite a reputation with this distance and she lives up to it, finishing in first in 10 minutes, 53 point 53 seconds. Waubonsie’s Ashley Heidenrich finishes in second in 11 minutes 20.09 seconds. Emily Spellman of Benet finishes third.

## 100 Meter Hurdles

Let’s put some obstacles in the way for the 100 meter hurdles. Another state star in this one… North’s Halle Bieber in the middle lane. She grabs first, naturally in 14.74 seconds. She also would have the top time in the 300m hurdles later in the night.

## 800 Meter Run

End of the 800m has another huskies runner leading the pack. Campbell Peterson crosses in 2 minutes 18.30 seconds. Benet’s Meaghan Andrews finishes ten seconds behind her and then Gabby Rinon from Waubonsie.

## 400 Meter Run

Once around the track for the 400 meter is next and this one becomes quite a footrace… North’s Natalie Walsh and Benet’s Mia Nolan in lanes 4 and 5 are neck and neck down the stretch… they would finish separated by one one hundredth of a second… 1 minute one point 68 seconds and 1 minute point 69 seconds, top place going to the huskie.

## 4 x 400 Meter Relay

The sun has officially set and it is officially cold but we have one more relay… last race of the night with the 4 by 4. Half way mark and the huskie team leads the way with Benet in 2^{nd}. Down the final stretch and it’ll be Campbell Peterson anchoring the victorious race in 4 minutes, 10 point 16 seconds.

## Results

In similar fashion to the 4 by 4, North would take the top place overall for the invite with 156 points, St. Charles East in second, Waubonsie Valley in third and Benet Academy in 5^{th}.
