Malik Hall scored 28 points in Metea Valley’s win against Glenbard North in the opening round of the 4-A state playoffs. The Mustangs matched up with Hinsdale South in the regional semifinals. This game is a rematch from December when Barrett Benson went off for 32 points in the Hornets win.
It was a back and forth affair in the first half. Metea Valley grabbed an early 6-4 lead, but Hinsdale South had a few shooters of its own. Senior Brian Kern knocked down five-three pointers in the contest, leading all scorers with 20 points. The Hornets opened up the lead in the third, running away with a 55-40 win, moving on to the regional final against Downers Grove South. The Mustangs finish their season with 14 wins.
