Benet Academy on the road at Notre Dame. Redwings trying to avoid going 0-2 for the first time since 2011. The Dons, on the other hand, look to start 2016, 2-0.
After Benet went up 13-0 early in the second quarter, the pace of the game slowed to an almost hault. Both teams forced turnovers on back-to-back possessions. In the final seconds of the first half, the Dons scored on a jump ball pass from Tom Drabik to Branden Cravens.
Notre Dame would tie the game at 16 in the third. But in the fourth, quarterback Jack Sznajder made a play, hitting C.J. Birck in strike for a 20-yard completion. That pass lead to the eventual game-winning field goal by Victor Karam. Benet scores on a failed lateral to end the game and pickup its first win, 25-16.
