Benet Academy vs. Naperville Central Baseball 3.22.19

The Naperville Central Redhawks, still in search of their first win 2 games in to the season, host the Benet Academy Redwings who already have three wins under their belt.

2nd inning, Benet’s got the bases loaded with two outs. Dolan Glasgow draws the walk, bringing in benet’s first run, 1-0.

Central’s pitcher Michael Clinkert still in trouble… bases still loaded and the next batter gets hit by a pitch bringing the score up 2-0 redwings.

On to the next batter Connor Hinks and he breaks this one open early with a hit up the middle. 4-0 Benet.

Top of the third now and Benet adds some more… a double steal that includes one at home. Colin Bruce beats the throw, Benet leads 7-0 after three innings of play.

Not only is Benet feeling it at the plate, but they are also working the field. Chris Perry on the mound holding the lead. He went 4 innings with just 2 hits allowed and 6 strike outs.

Central would get on the board in the bottom of the fifth. On a passed ball, Joe Wooten comes in to score but Benet’s hot start would be too strong as they are now 4 and 2 early in the season.
