Benet Academy taking the trip in to the city to face off against new mega conference foe De La Salle. The meteors hosting their fourth straight home, sitting at 2-1 on the year while Benet is undefeated.
5 minutes left in the first, Colin Gillespie turns around and hands the ball to Sean Torres who does the rest. Opening up the game with a 40 yard run.
Two minutes later and Benet still driving down the field. Gillespie forced to move a little bit but still finds Jacob Snell who gets the wings on the board, 7-0.
Into the second quarter now, with ten minutes until the break. Gillespie drops back but then bobs and weaves his way through traffic eventually finding the end zone to double BA’s lead, 14-0.
Still in the second quarter, four minutes to play. Pierce Walsh is on the receiving end of a Gillespie pass, landing the 25 yard catch.
Which then sets up Sean Torres who extends Benet’s lead 21-0. Simple as that.
But the meteors aren’t walking in to the locker room just yet. Minute 45 on the clock. Michael Passarelli rockets one to Jason Moore who then avoids a tackle and goes to the house for a 60 yard Touchdown. 21-7 going into the break.
But not to worry, Benet Academy would get back on track in the third quarter. Seconds ticking down and Pierce Walsh on the slant loses his defender and hits the endzone as Benet stays undefeated 28-7.
