Thinking about the end of your life can be dismal, however it is better to be prepared than not.
The Senior Task Force hosted a presentation given by Monarch Landing social worker, Jennifer Shay, which encouraged those in attendance to have a plan using the Five Wishes method.
“We always used to think of a will, where my stuff goes after I die. And what we are thinking about now, because we are living longer is the process of our quality of life before we pass away and how we engage the people we love in that process,” said Jennifer Shay, a Clinical Social Worker at Monarch Landing.
The Five Wishes method encompasses everything from how you wish to be treated in your final days, to burial requests.
