24 young people will get the chance to start their own businesses.
The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, aimed at teaching young people the entrepreneurial spirit.
Students in grades six through 12 will get hands on lessons about business from guest speakers, facilitators and mentors.
The program runs from October to May with classes meeting once a week.
By May, students will have filed paperwork with the county clerk and pitched their business plans to angel investors.
Local businesses are putting up the sponsorship dollars to get the budding businesses started.
The students will get to keep all the money made through their start-ups.
