Another local leader has just announced he’ll be leaving the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago.
Tom Beerntsen, the Executive Vice President of Association Development will be parting ways with the Y on October 31st. For more than 40 years, he served as a dedicated leader, passionate about improving the lives of young people.
Prior to a merge with Metro Chicago, Beerntsen was the President and CEO of the YMCA Heritage Group, which includes the Kroehler and Fry Y’s in Naperville.
He will go on to lead the Wood Family Foundation as their Executive Director. Retired cubs pitcher Kerry Wood and his wife started the group to improve the lives for children in the Chicago area.
