The DuPage Children’s Museum asked kids and their parents to get out and play today in honor of Nickelodeon’s annual Worldwide Day of play.
Museum visitors participated in many activities including coloring and crafts inside and flying kites and planes outside.
Today, Nickelodeon’s television channel and website went black to help promote healthy lifestyles in our youth by empowering them to get off the couch and outside to play.
“So many kids today are so used to watching TV or getting on their iPads and focusing on technology,” said Bri Bromberek, Marketing Manager for the Museum. “While there’s a lot of great educational tools that utilize technology, we still think that active healthy lifestyles [like] getting out doors, going to museums, and doing really hands on activities, really help encourage active, healthy lifestyles.”
This is the 10th anniversary of the annual Worldwide Day of Play.
