World of Beer just opened offering up hundreds of cold, frothy ways to quench your thirst.
50 beers of draft, and more than 500 bottles separates Naperville’s newest bar from the rest. World of Beer recently opened its doors to customers serving up beers from all around the world.
“I had the Pilsner Urquell from Czech Republic and it was very good,” said Naperville resident Mary Carol Liethen. ”It was nice and light, good summer beer.”
All the different styles can be a bit overwhelming to a newcomer so servers go through 40 hours of training to help customers decide what they’re going to like.
“It’s all about the experience that you have and we consider ourselves a destination for you to come out and really interact with our servers, and allow them to educate patrons on beer, as well as the patrons educating our servers on beer. So it’s very passionate in terms of what we do in the industry of a bar,” said managing partner of World of Beer Naperville, Rick San Martin.
World of Beer is constantly changing its draft selection, so there’s always something new to try.
“We carry Pilsner Urquell, which is the original Pilsner from the Czech Republic. We carry Von Stefoner, which is the oldest working brewery known to date in the world. And we carry a lot of things with stories” said Carolyn Wallace, Product Manager at World of Beer Naperville.
“The history, the complexity, the family, almost every beer has a family history so the fact that they are proud of their beer heritage, to produce a product like beer, and to have a place like the World of Beer, just coincides together,” added Jim Kurek, a Chicago Resident.
They don’t offer Miller or Bud Light, instead, they recommend Kolsch beers, pale lagers and Pilsners. For the craft beer enthusiast Cigar City is recommended.
“Cigar City, they’re from Tampa, Florida, I have a bottle of Maduro in my cooler right now that I brought up with me that I guarantee you haven’t had,” said Wallace.
And if you’re just not sure you can get a flight of four smaller beers to sample.
“Its nice to have those flights. You can taste it and whatever you like, get a bigger one!” said Jerry Furmanski a resident Clarendon Hills.
The bar hopes to become a part of the community, and plans to work with local not-for-profits in the future.
World of Beer is open Sunday through Thursday from noon to one in the morning and Fridays and Saturdays from noon until two in the morning.
