The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture recently visited Will County to
recognize it as the world’s fourth largest inland port.
Congressman Bill Foster (D-11) and Will County Executive Larry Walsh were also present at the event.
Secretary Tom Vilsack spoke about the importance of congress working together to pass the Farm Bill and the large role agriculture plays in the economy.
He also mentioned how important immigration reform is to the agriculture industry.
The press conference was held at DeLong Company, which is a major distributor of feed nationally and internationally.
