After nearly a year’s worth of construction, Naperville has another playground families can now enjoy.
The Naperville Park District recently celebrated the reopening of the newly renovated playground at Wildflower Park.
The designs were based on input from surrounding neighborhoods and will include equipment accessible to children of all abilities.
The park will include the existing shelter and picnic tables as well as new benches and landscaping.
Kids will love the addition of the comet spinner and adults will enjoy the 150-foot trail segment connecting the sidewalk to the loop trail at the park.
“The community was great, we invited the subdivisions to come and comment on about eight different proposed designs that various companies throughout the Chicagoland area submitted to us. So they viewed all of those and voted on the ones they wanted. And this one was the majority, they thought this one had a lot of cool features with the spinner and the rock wall, so the community was very helpful,” said Jessica Burgdorf, Project Manager for the Naperville Park District.
Naperville Park District is still in the works of enhancing Sportsman’s Park, which is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2014.
