The cold weather didn’t keep neighbors, friends and family from welcoming home Naperville’s heroes.
Adam and David Tracy were greeted with a celebration and gifts as they returned home from serving with the Army, through Operation Welcome You Home, an organization that volunteers their time to honor those who serve.
“It’s always good to know that what I do is supported by the people I do it for. I don’t need thanks for each individual thing I do, but to know my overall service is appreciated means a lot,” said Adam Tracy, of the U.S. Army.
Robert Tracy, Adam and David’s father is a Veteran of the Army, and got to see both of his sons come home together.
“Its super heartwarming because the guys worked hard and they’ve given to their country and we have a great tradition on military service in our family, between the three of us we’ve deployed ten times,” said Robert Tracy, Veteran of the U.S. Army.
“To see how much he appreciates our service it’s hard to describe because it’s something you feel inside, it’s a bond we share, not just as family, but as service members,” said David Tracy, of the U.S. Army.
Returning from Afghanistan in July, Adam hopes to stay in the U.S., while David is currently stationed in Missouri, and hopes to become an Army Chaplain.
