Over 700 people filled the Riverwalk’s Grand Pavilion this morning for SHARE’s 11th Annual Walk to Remember.
The not-for-profit aims to support families who have experienced the loss of a child and to find hope for the future.
“I think it’s just the fact that we can just dedicate a day to our babies, you know they don’t get birthdays, they don’t get graduations, and so this day is so important to us because it’s a chance to bring families together in honor of our babies,” said participant, Megan Mabrey.
Each child’s name was presented with a rose before families and friends began their mile walk.
In June 2010, the funds raised through the event was used to create the Wings of Hope Angel Garden at Edward Hospital.
