Dozen’s of veterans gathered at Cantigny Park for the annual benefit fair.
Over 20 veteran assistance organizations and 17 colleges were there throughout the day to educate vets on their rights from hearing aides, and other health services to scholarships and grants they are entitled to after serving our country.
“This day is a great tribute to our veterans, so many of them don’t realize the benefits and opportunities out there for them, schooling opportunities, benefits, glasses, hearing aides, there is just a lot here and I think this is a great day to honor them and help them with their needs.” said Nina Petru, the Commander of the Naperville VFW.
Vets also enjoyed entertainment, a bike raffle and a chance to reconnect with old friends.
This was the 3rd year for the event, which was started in 2009 as a way to properly welcome home Vietnam Veterans.
