A popular park on Naperville’s south side will get some much-needed updates this summer.
Frontier Park hasn’t been updated much since its opening in 1996.
At their most recent meeting the board approved a 1.7 million dollar contract for upgrades to be made to the facility.
“At Frontier we will be adding a parking lot on the west end of the park as well as some restrooms near the baseball hub. There are portal-potties now but it’ll be nice to have something permanent,” said Peggy Pelkonen, the Project Manager for the updates.
More upgrades include adding wheelchair ramps for more accessibility to the field and regrading four of the soccer fields.
The 110-acre park features baseball fields, a skate park, playground and soccer fields.
