Many District 203 parents are unhappy with Superintendent Mark Mitrovich, and they even began an online petition demanding he resign.
164 residents signed it before the creator Jason Moede suspended it saying “in the interest of promoting an honest, open-minded, and non-antagonistic exchange of ideas between District 203 and its residents.”
The parents who signed the petition question Mitrovich’s leadership during the district’s enrollment capacity study process. They said it has moved hastily and that details have been vague.
In response, Mitrovich said that Moede had the freedom to create the petition, and that he would continue working on finding a solution to overcrowding issues.
“I have to be focused on what is the greatest need here and the greatest need here is coming up with a viable alternative to this issue,” said Mitrovich.
The petition could be reopened at a point in the future, but until then Moede asks residents not to sign it.
