More than 80 musicians of all ages brought their tubas out to perform for this year’s “Tuba Christmas.” The tradition began in Naperville in 1979 and brings together amateurs to play classic Christmas songs outside of US Bank in downtown Naperville. Ron Keller, band director for the Naperville Municipal band, also directs this event. He says the first Tuba Christmas had a group of about 18 but the holiday performance has grown every year since.
