A Naperville restaurant made the holidays brighter for fifteen local families.
Zapatista partnered with Loaves and fishes community food pantry to donate an artificial Christmas tree and toys to each family, who are all clients of the pantry.
Various businesses and organizations had decorated each tree, while restaurant patrons donated and wrapped the presents.
The recipients, who live below the poverty level, also enjoyed a warm meal on the house and sang along to live Christmas music.
“The holidays are here and we have the ability to give back. We are new to the neighborhood, not even a year old, and wanted to do something fun,” Keith Zust, General Manager of Zapatista.
“It’s just a blessing,” said Dianna Dixon, Naperville resident and Loaves & Fishes Client. “I’m so grateful to be able to have a tree and presents for Christmas.”
Zapatista hopes this becomes a tradition and that the toy and tree drive can help twice as many families next year.
