Naperville was faced with tragedy this year when two murders rocked our usually quiet community.
On February 4th a bar room brawl turned deadly when District 204 teacher Shaun Wild was stabbed to death at Frankie’s Blue Room downtown.
Friends and community members gathered at Wild’s alma mater, North Central College, to remember the 24 year old.
28 year old Daniel Olaska is charged with one count of first degree murder and two counts of attempted murder for the injuries to Wild’s friend and a bar employee.
Olaska remains in DuPage County Jail where his is being held without bail.
In October another shocking stabbing happened. This time two children were murdered. Elzbieta Plackowska is accused of killing her own seven-year-old son Justin Plackowski and five year old Olivia Dworakowski, whom she was babysitting at the time. Each child was stabbed dozens of times.
A memorial fund has been set up in the children’s names to help the grieving families.
The 40-year-old mother has pled not guilty to ten counts of first-degree murder.
