A local mom is taking action and collecting toys for her hometown, in the wake of the recent tornadoes.
When Rachael Eertmoed saw the destruction near her hometown of Peoria, She knew she had to do something.
Toys for Tazewell County is a toy drive for kids who lost all of their toys in the destruction.
Donations will be collected at Café N Play on Odgen Avenue, Minuteman Press on Naperville Wheaton Road, as well as Indiana Wesleyan University on Diehl Road until December 6th.
“My daughter actually asked me why we are doing this for kids and not the parents and I told her, the best thing a parent can do is see a smile on their child’s face, and so I am hoping to bring a smile to everyone’s face in Tazewell County this holiday season,” said Eertmoed.
Rachael is still looking for help transporting the toys downstate. If you’d like to help you can contact her through Facebook.
