Preschoolers at the Goddard School in Naperville recently got their chance at the job of a lifetime, Toy Tester.
“This is the seventh annual Goddard School Preschool approved toy test. Every year Goddard systems ask 50 schools to participate in the voting and the testing and we were very excited to be one of them,” said Laura Carter, Director of Naperville Goddard Preschool.
Six months ago, toy companies submitted toys $40 and under that encouraged playful learning for kids up to six years old.
Education experts then evaluated those toys, and the ones receiving the highest points were sent to Goddard Schools in October.
The tots then played with them and chose their top ten favorites.
“The children were very excited, we went to the classrooms to let them know about doing the toy testing, it is a child’s dream,” said Carter.
Topping the list were gel crayons, roller ramps, building sets, and a science mixing set.
Residents are encouraged to vote for their favorite through November 26 at campaign.goddardschool.com/toyvote.gspx. The winning toy will be announced on December 2 and Goddard will donate 100 of those to “Toys for Tots.”
