A workshop took place in Naperville to bring the world to DuPage County.
The DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau recently hosted DuPage GPS: A Tourism Roadmap. The workshop was aimed at finding ways for DuPage to grow, prosper, and share in the tourism industry.
“So what we are doing is getting town hall meetings together across the entire DuPage County area, to strategize and talk about issues moving forward and how we want to be able to stay competitive in how we can build a stronger tourism industry in the DuPage County,” said Beth Marchetti, Executive Director of the DuPage Convention and Visitors Bureau.
During the program, participants discussed different strategies in round table sessions, brainstorming new and creative ways to bring more visitors to the area Those ideas focused on efforts to fill hotels, increase attendance at entertainment venues and host more conventions.
This was one of three workshops held in our area to create a strategic plan for DuPage tourism.
