After 30 years with the Will County Forest Preserve District, eight of those years as its leader, Marcy Demauro, will be retiring under the district’s new Early Retirement Program which is for employees who have served for a minimum of 20 years and are 50 years old or over.
Demauro is one of the first of 21 eligible district employees to retire under this program.
Through this plan, the Forest Preserve District will save more than $2 million over the next five years, but will see an increase in pension costs.
