Despite some weather related setbacks in the Spring, the $93 million Water Street District Development is on track to open in the late fall of 2016.
That’s thanks in part to some unseasonably warm temperatures hitting the area now.
“We’re going to make hay when we get good weather, so we’ll continue pouring some of the concrete that we were planning on stopping, the lower Riverwalk, we weren’t planning on getting that back in there, and doing the walkways until spring, but if we keep with this weather, we’ll hit it when we can over the winter,” said Jeff Prosapio, Executive Vice President of Development for Marquette Companies.
Leases are already in place for businesses coming to the district, like the 158-room Hotel Indigo, retail store and play-space, Traveling Tots, and several restaurants.
Plans are also in place to feature artwork from Century Walk along the new Riverwalk at the base of the development.
