Naperville Police are reminding residents to keep their car doors locked when they are left unattended.
Motor vehicles have been the targets of a rash of recent burglaries, with thieves taking money, cell phones, and whatever else they can find in the unlocked cars.
“Everywhere from South to the Western parts of the city, along Rt. 59, those neighborhoods, and so really there’s no real pattern for that, it’s a crime of opportunity that’s happening all over and we believe by more than one individual,” said Louis Cammiso, Commander with the Naperville Police Department.
Most of the thefts have occurred overnight, with more than 100 incidents since July 15th.
Police remind residents not to leave objects of value in plain sight in your car, and to take anything containing personal information, like a phone or computer, with you inside.
