The Naperville Park District has rolled out their latest design for their upcoming activity center
After receiving community feedback at an open house earlier this year, park district officials went back to the drawing board and added several modifications to their original plan, which were revealed at their most recent meeting.
The new design includes a larger multi purpose room, an indoor playground, and a cafe.
This adds an additional 2,500 square feet to the nearly 80 thousand square foot project, and another $620 thousand to the center’s $23.5 million budget.
“We have a lot of reasons to be excited about the new additions, for one the extended multi purpose room will be used mainly by the WDSRA, so we are getting everything up to code for them,” said the Park District’s Director or Recreation, Brad Wilson.
Park district officials hope to save money elsewhere in the project to cover the additional costs, otherwise, they will tap into funds set aside for future parks.
