Almost two weeks after the DuPage County Forest Preserve’s Executive Director was put on paid leave, the district has announced his replacement.
John Lapinski will take over for Arnie Biondo, who is retiring on September 2, after only 7 months on the job.
This summer, Biondo helped start the district’s early retirement program for about 65 eligible employees who are 50 and older and have at least 20 years of service credit with the Illinois municipal retirement fund to help save money.
Lapinski, a longtime county resident, is the current Trial Court Administrator for DuPage County’s Chief Judge and also serves as a Law Professor for the Chicago-Kent College of Law.
He has signed a three-year contract with a $160,000 annual salary.
Lapinski’s first day is October 1.
