The county recently launched its new smartphone app ‘Navigate DuPage’.
The app is a quick way for residents and visitors to get directions, make payments and keep up with the latest county news.
“It’s just another example of how we are trying to be a 21st century model of good government. And we know that literally millions of people have page views of our website. They come they take a look, and we know that about half the folks that come and look at our website are looking at it from their mobile device. So we thought it would be nice, a way to sort of demonstrate more transparency, to try to offer what we do here at the county in a very easy to understand, easy to digest format,” said DuPage County Chairman, Dan Cronin.
The app was designed to meet the needs of the community while improving the outreach of the county.
“This is also another way to get at one of our strategic goals, which is increasing our connection with the community. So, it’s not only driven by data that we see coming in, but also by strategic initiatives that the county board and county staff are working towards,” said Chief Information Officer, Dan Carlsen.
The app includes a map of the trail system, an option to pay property taxes and even finds a way to local animals available for adoption.
The Navigate DuPage app is free and available on Apple and Android devices.
