A Naperville man has plead guilty to sabotaging a local air traffic control facility last September.
37-year-old Brian Howard recently entered the plea in a Chicago federal court, admitting to setting fire to the Chicago Air Route Traffic Control Center in Aurora. His actions resulted in the grounding and delay of thousands of flights at Midway and O’Hare, disrupting air traffic nationwide for more than a week.
Howard’s sentencing is set for September 11. He is expected to serve at least ten years as part of a plea deal with federal prosecutors, but could serve up to 30.
