President and CEO of Loaves & Fishes since 2008, Charles McLimans, has announced his resignation and accepted a new position with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.
Though he is excited for his new journey and return to his home state, he knows it will be a bittersweet farewell come January nine.
“Loaves and Fishes is my heart, a big part of my heart will remain here at Loaves & Fishes and in Naperville, and the people of Naperville have been so wonderful and so warm and accepting and supportive of me and the mission of Loaves & Fishes and I know that will continue,” said McLimans.
During his tenure, Charles moved the organization to a new facility in 2011 and expanded the pantry to serve not only Naperville but all of DuPage.
Stepping up to lead will be Megan Selck, Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Loaves & Fishes, to serve as Interim President and CEO until the Board of Directors appoint a permanent replacement.
Megan hopes to take Charles’ vision and leadership and continue that into the future.
“Charles often says he looks at things at a 30,000 foot view and he does do that really well, so I’m really hoping to look from a similar perspective and look at the big picture and hoping to serve the community as best that we can,” said Selck.
Mayor A. George Pradel gave the outgoing leader a special honor, proclaiming December 11 Charles McLimans day in Naperville.
