Loaves & Fishes Community Services recently received a grant that will help support one of their newer programs.
ConAgra Foods Foundation, which aims to end childhood hunger, has granted Loaves & Fishes $150,000.
The money will be used for the not-for-profits Client Engagement Model, a multifaceted approach to ending hunger in the Western suburbs which launched last November.
“This grant is helping us expand this program even further, it’s helping us train more volunteers and just giving us more programmatic time and space as well,” said Matthew Chicola, Director of External Relations at Loaves & Fishes Community Services.
The Client Engagement Model supports programs such as grocery assistant, job search support, and ESL classes.
Also on the horizon for Loaves & Fishes is their grocery market renovation, which will be unveiled on June 12 at their Annual Celebration of Day Without Hunger.
