Dupage County Residents suffering from mental illness will soon have a place to go to for help in Wheaton.
County and Health Officials recently gathered during a groundbreaking for a new 33,000 square foot community center on the Dupage County Campus.
“Our goal for the community center is wellness for all, said David Hass, Public Information Officer for Dupage County Health Department. “We are going to be serving our behavioral health clients here, but we really want to use this community center, and that’s why we chose that name community, because we want to bring in other groups, other individuals who share that goal of spreading well being throughout Dupage county.”
The health department has also partnered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness Dupage to share the new space that encourages wellness.
Construction on the new building is expected to be completed in the fall of 2015 and cost around $11,000,000.
