A Naperville resident is facing a felony charge after TSA agents at Midway Airport found a loaded handgun in his carry on luggage.
28-year-old Kevin Reed from the 1000 block of North Mill Street was en route to Detroit when he was arrested after an x-ray screener discovered a .38 caliber taurus titan in his carry-on. He was charged with one felony count of attempting to board an aircraft with a weapon.
Reed recently appeared in bond court where he claimed he had driven to Kentucky and forgot the weapon was in his bag. The judge reprimanded him for being “foolish and arrogant,” and assigned him to pre-trial services.
This was the first weapon discovered on a carry-on at Midway this year.
