The iconic Burger King on Washington and Aurora Avenue in downtown Naperville was re-opened recently after it was shut down for about eight weeks for remodeling.
Originally opened in 1965, the building was due for some needed upgrades, but managed to work in some history with the re-design.
“We came in and we tried to get a design that was modern, yet had that look of the 1960’s and we think we’ve done that. The outside we’ve kept the same so it looks like just the same, with one difference, the sign and we might actually end up changing that to make it the same sign as 1965,” said Todd Bartmess, President and Chief Operating Officer with Tri City Foods.
Upgrades were made to the dining room, as well as a complete re-design of the kitchen with brand new equipment.
And management hopes the addition of a new outdoor patio along the Riverwalk, will attract more visitors in the summer.
