September 19 is the day the museum plans to welcome back visitors after a nine month hiatus.
Back in January, the museum was shut down when a burst pipe caused extensive flooding on all three floors, leading to a major cleanup and repair mission.
But now that a reopening date has been set, exhibits are being prepared for an upgraded experience.
“What they’ll see new and enhanced I will say is our Creativity Connections, lots of new exhibits in what is one of the museum’s favorite exhibit spaces,” said Sarah Orleans, President and CEO of the DuPage Children’s Museum.
Since the closure, the museum opened a temporary outpost at Westfield Fox Valley Mall. That location will remain open until at least August 31.
